Our spring workshop, Embodying the Music, will be centered on exactly that - emBODYing music! This workshop, presented by Megan Calabro, draws on expertise from the fields of both music education (Kodály method) and music therapy, and is a unique opportunity to strengthen your musicianship by engaging in experiences rooted in both rhythm and singing. Musicians of all levels are invited and encouraged to attend!
In this workshop participants will engage in singing and rhythmic experiences that are paired with things such as movement, body percussion, and solfège singing. Participants will then dive into segments of some specific hymns to sing with rhythmic accuracy, before ending with our closing hymn.
Megan Calabro is a Board Certified Music Therapist and Master Certified Health Coach with over 20 years of clinical experience in pediatrics. She is one of this year’s three co-conductors at the NPM Metuchen Summer Choral Festival and is the primary cantor at St. Mary’s-Stony Hill in Watchung, NJ.
